Regressive Delta the Świna River
Between the Stara Świna and the Rzecki Nurt there is a place called Karsiborska Kępa.
It is one of the dozens of islands found in the area of a unique regressive delta. The strength of Baltic storms pushes salt water to Świna and to the Szczecin Lagoon. The sand carried by it is deposited in shallow waters between the riverbed of Stara Świna and the Wicko Wielkie lake. Islands that were created as a result of such actions constitute a paradise for birds. The breeding season gives you an unforgettable opportunity to observe 140 species of birds inhabiting the Karsiborska Kępa.
